Archie's niece Barbara Lee "Billie " Bunker who is the daughter of his brother Fred comes to town looking to live in New York, but Archie urges her to return to Baltimore but when she learns the reality of New York Apartments Stephanie urges Archie to let her move in.

With Murray gone and bills unpaid and Archie's questionable Bookkeeping puts the bar in of the verge of foreclosure. Archie Seeks out the help of his lawyer Sam Rabinowitz who tells Archie he must use a business manager. Rabinowitz's assigns Archie Roger Abbot who Archie has already given a bad first Impression to. Archie realizes that Roger may be the only one who can keep the bar afloat.

When Mrs. Camby needs extra money to help pay for her daughter's college education. Archie suggests a garment company that Jose's sister works for in which she will be able to work at home. When they don’t pay her what they promised her she quits and convinces Archie to go to the company’s corporate headquarters and get the $60 they owe her. When Archie goes to the headquarters the head of the company calls in a goon who puts out the $60 but then blocks him from getting to the money. Archie decides to say they gave him the money while secretly paying it out of his own pocket. Inspired by what she thinks was courageousness by Archie in standing up to the company Mrs. Camby decides to make clothing and try to sell it her self.

When Archie ask Harry to buy back Murray's half of the bar, but Archie instead learns Harry invested the money Murray paid him in McFeeney's Topless Archie's primary competition. Archie fires Harry, but with Harry gone Archie learns how much He needs Harry and tries to get him to come back.

Seth Anthony who played "young man" in this episode is looking for an unedited version of this episode. Seth had appeared in the very beginning of the opening scene as costumer in the bar, but unfortunately his portion of the scene was edited out of both the syndicated edit used on stations such as WPSG UPN 57 in Philadelphia and the In house edit used by TV Land in early 2003 which both start with Barney (Allan Melvin) walking up to the bar which is after Seth's appearance. For Stephanie 13th birthday Billie buys her tickets to a sold out punk rock concert but Archie Forbids her to go. But on the night of the Concert Archie finds the House Empty and the tickets and Archie and Barney go to Madison Square Garden looking for the two girls but unknown to Archie Stephanie and Billie were only out getting Pizza and Billie had sold the Tickets to a Friend. But Archie and Barney get arrested when they get mixed in an unruly mob of people without tickets. Archie and Barney are arrested and thanks to Barney mistaken for pedophiles. They looked up with 2 men charged with statutory rape in the park (Archie and Barney think it means rape of a statue in the park) and another that strangled his wife.

Archie wants to have Stephanie’s Bat Mitzvah reception at the Bar while Grandma Harris  want to hold it at her country club. Stephanie convinces them they should hold it at the house. The morning of the Bat Mitzvah Stephanie’s father Floyd shows up at the house. Both Archie and Grandma Harris don’t want Floyd at the Bat Mitzvah thinking he’s only after money while Stephanie wants him to stay. Archie and Grandma Harris reluctantly agree to let him stay. At the Ceremony the rabbi ask Stephanie’s father to step forward both Floyd at Archie step up.

Trivia: Ben Slack plays Stephanie's father Floyd Mills in this episode. Marty Brill played Floyd in the ninth season premiere of "All in the Family" "Little Miss Bunker" in which Floyd leaves Stephanie with Archie and Edith. Slack took over the role later that season in "The Return of Stephanie's Father" in which Floyd asks Archie and Edith for money in order to keep Stephanie . Dennis Haskins who plays the workman preparing the house who tries to remove Archie's chair would later become known to TV viewers as Principal Richard Belding on NBC Saturday morning teen sitcom "Saved by the Bell".

Floyd sits back down and allowing Archie to step up to the bema and make a speech. Later Stephanie in her Bat Mitzvah speech says she would like everybody to get along. When they get back to the house the gang from the bar shows Stephanie the money tree they made her Stephanie shows it to Floyd she tells everyone wants to put the bank. Veronica offers to put the tree in Stephanie’s room. Floyd tell Stephanie he is in need of money for an investment he also giver he a broach he says belonged to her mother, but when Stephanie’s shoes it to Grandma Harris she know it’s a fake but does not have the hart to tell Stephanie. Grandma Harris takes Floyd to task on the phony broach tells him she does not think he’s changed and is only after money. Floyd asks Grandma Harris for money for his investment in Miami. She will not give it to him and tell him she thinks he is only using Stephanie to get money out of her. After using the bathroom upstairs Archie catches Floyd taking money off the money tree in Stephanie’s room. Archie confronts Floyd and calls him a thief and a liar Stephanie comes in and realizes what Floyd has done, but she lets Floyd have the money though she still is very disappointed in him. When Stephanie asks Grandma Harris if the broach really belonged to her mother not wanting to disappoint Stephanie she tell her “It was her very favorite”.

Archie who does not want to face the fact that Stephanie is growing up, scars away Eric the boy who wanted to ask Stephanie to the dance.
Archie realizes the wrongs of his way but Eric has already asked another girl. Archie then enlist the help of Stephanie's Best friend Amy Bloom with Amy's help Archie is able find another boy to take Stephanie to the Dance.

Stephanie joins the Astoria Girls Club's Photography club and convinces Archie to buy her a used camera. But when she starts taking candid test shots of Archie around the bar he gets mad and asks her to stop. Soon Archie chances his tune when learns that Barry Bloom has been posing for his daughter Amy for the “A Day in the Life of a Dad” photo contest Archie insist Stephanie enter and starts posing for her. When Stephanie develops the photos the club adviser complements the candid photos of Archie and recommends Stephanie enter them instead of the posted ones. When Archie sees the photos that Stephanie entered he is embarrassed but when they win the contest Archie has to suck it up.

Stephanie tries out for her Junior High School's boys baseball team and makes the team But the coach cuts her a few days latter though she is better then some of the boys still on the team. When Archie confronts the coach tells Archie that Stephanie made the team for public relations and he cut her only because she was a girl. When Archie argues that Stephanie should be on the team the coach calls Archie a "Bleeding heart liberal".

Note: According to my research this episode did not air until January 1982 which is probably around a year after it was originally produced. TV Guide.com show guide has this episode listed for March 22,1981 as well as January 10, 1982 but the TV Guide for  March 22,1981 shows that part one of  two part special airing of the Hollywood classic "Gone with the Wind" aired that night on CBS  instead of the regularly scheduled CBS sitcoms including Archie Bunker's Place.

Trivia: Martin Balsam does not appear and is not credited in the opening credits of this episode and it did not air until 8 months after he left the show yet it the January 10 1982 TV Guide listing for this episode he is listed as playing Murray.

Mr. VanRanseleer gets Archie cashes his Social Security check at the Bar with money Harry had just counted, but he Mugged right outside of the
bar. Mr. VanRanselerer is now afraid to go back outside and secludes himself in his apartment, but when a man named Lloyd pays with one of Harry's Marked bills it seems very likely that Lloyd mugged Mr.VanRanseleer so Archie, Billie, Veronica and Harry, set up a trap for Lloyd where he is give back the marked twenty-dollar bill back Mr. VanRenseleer pretends he has his sight back after the hit on his head and identifies Lloyd as the mugger and the Police find
the marked money on Lloyd. But this is not enough for the police to hold him and they must release Lloyd.

Archie wants Billie to get back together with Ted Green a Man that claims to be Billie's old high school boyfriend and a all-American republican, but Billie who wants nothing to do with him tells her him that she is dating Gary and gets Gary to play along with her. In the process Gary and Billie discover they may like each other as more than just friends. Billie makes Archie realize Ted is not all he claims to be and in reality they only went on a few dates back in High School and it was never a serious relationship.

Archie buys an old used truck. When Archie ask Jose to take it to Jose's Cousin’s auto shop for repairs,
but When Jose tries to use the break his foot goes through the floor and Archie's Truck hits into Reggie Jackson's Rolls Royce. Reggie is ready to let Archie off easy until he makes some bigoted comments about Reggie to a Reporter. Gary tries to get Reggie to forgive Archie. Reggie is willing to settle just so he douse not have to see Archie or hear his mouth again.

Joey has secretly smuggled his dessert turtle with him to New York. Meanwhile Gloria starts to feel she is getting way at the bar. Back at the house something seems To be wrong with the Turtle. Gloria and Joey go to the Vet, but he has retired and another veterinarian named Dr. Adams has is there because he has bought the Vet's equipment. Dr. Adams tries to help the Turtle But it is already dead. Dr. Adams offers Gloria a Job at his office in Fox Rsidge, Duchess County. Archie who was hoping Gloria would move back in is disappointed she decides to take the Job, but offers to drive Gloria and Joey to Foxridge borrowing Harry's Truck.

Trivia: Burgess Meredith had a long and distinguished career highlighted with best supporting actor Oscar nominations for the role of Harry Greener in Day of the Locust (1975) in 1976 and Rocky for the role of Rock's Manager Mickey in Rocky (1976) in 1977 . He will also be remembered for the recurring role of Bat Man villain the Penguin on the 1960's Bat Man TV series and visually challenged Liberian Henry Bemis in the Classic 1959 "The Twilight Zone" "Time Enough At Last". In Meredith's later years he guest stared 3 times in 1993 as Judge Cully on Carroll O'Connor's series "In the Heat of the Night" and played Jack Lemmon's character John Gustafson father Grandpa Gustafson in Grumpy Old Men (1993) and Grumpier Old Men (1995).

Archie Drives Gloria and Joey to Dr Adams House in Fox Ridge Duchies County. Dr. Admas lets them rent rooms in his house. Well she goes to work at his Veterinarians office with one rule No Pets. When a rich lady leaves her pure-bred show dog's non-pure-bred puppies at the office and tells Gloria that Dr Adams will destroy them for her. Gloria and Joey try rescue them, but they learn they have misjudged the Dr. Adams who had no intention of killing them.

Trivia: Un-Aired Original Pilot for Gloria repackaged as a Archie Bunkers Place episode. Christian Jacobs takes over the roll of Joey in this episode. CBS rejected this pilot, veteran "All in the Family" and "Archie Bunker's Place" writers Patt Shea and Harriett Weiss and Archie Bunker's Place and close O'Connor associate and Archie Bunker's Place producer Joe Gannon who created wrote produced this pilot were replaced by were replaced by former "WKRP in Cincinnati " writers Steve Marshall and Dan Guntzelman at the helm of "Gloria". This did not sit well with Carroll O'Connor who with the rest of the Archie Bunker's Place production staff was effectively shut out of the production of Gloria. Rick Lohman's Dr.Jim Waynewrite and Ben the handyman were gone when Marshall and Guntzelman's second pilot was made which went to series as "Gloria" from 1982 to 1983. In the second pilot Dr Adams No pets rule was gone and Joey adopted a "Gay" Black dog which he named Archie after his grandfather which Carroll O'Connor was said to be less than thrilled about according to a December 1982 article about Sally Struthers in TV Guide. Lou Richards also was added to the cast and played veterinarian's assistant Clark V. Uhley,Jr in the series. Also in this pilot Jo de Winter's Maggie Lawrence is an Assistant of Dr. Adams. Garver’s mentally challenged cousin Larry whom he shares his inherence with looking for the spot in the bar to put his Donkey Kong Arcade game when his cousin Garver takes over the bar and gets rid of Archie.

Barry Antagonist stile and advaneces to Billie make Archie desperately want Gary back.

Archie convinces Barney to take in a border, but the border Archie helps Barney select turns out the be rude and obnoctishios and drives Barney out of his home. Barney seeks refuge across the street at Archie's. When Barney and Archie go over to evict him but he soon dies.

Trivia: Stephanie wants Archie to take her to see the 1982 movie musical "Annie". Danielle Brisebois originated the role of the youngest orphan Molly in the 1977 original Broadway production of "Annie" and was said to have caught the eye of Norman Lear playing that role. This helped lead to her being cast as Stephanie in the summer of 1978 for the ninth season of "All in the Family".
